Poplar seed head

Not quite sure which species of Poplar but the ground was covered thickly in these white fluffy "tails" I had never seen before.  They were lying all over the lawn of the manor house in the village.

K's aunt and uncle looked in on their walk with their son who had just flown in to Gatwick that morning from Canada.  He seemed so bright - I would have been on the bed asleep with jet lag!
