The sinuous Cocker at Double Mill

Compared with the Tranquil Cocker in a blip on 11th May. Recent rain has bought energy and sound back to the river.

A slow paced morning; a HIIT, haircut and some personal attention to nails and feet took up some time. Eventually, we set out for Aldi for more Shetland shopping.

This afternoon we planned the weeks here and the weeks in Kent, bought railway tickets for the next trip down, did the online shopping for the first week in Shetland. A click and collect from Lerwick.

We ventured out again to Sainsbury’s for stuff we couldn’t get online or at Aldi combined with a very pleasant walk through Cockermouth’s fine cemetery and along the Cocker to Simonscale Mill and back to the car.

The garden at Armaside House is a joy to look at. Much more bird life than in Kent. Saw bullfinches yesterday and a greater spotted woodpecker.

I’m getting very fond of this more relaxed way of life. Nowhere near as much that needs doing here compared to Kent.
