Life through the lens...

Abstract Patterns.

I do love the bright patterns of Provence.
This dish however was bought in the small town of Dieulefit, in the Drôme It borders northern Provence and is a lovely area to visit. Provence without the tourists. Or it was when we used to visit a few years ago.

The town has been a centre for pottery for 2000years thanks to the presence of clay in the soil.
There are still about 40 potteries in the area, and the town is full of the most fabulous pottery shops.
So many different styles and designs.
After visiting quite a few this was one of the colours and styles I liked best, and so we bought it to bring home as a memory of another wonderful holiday, and has been used as a fruit dish ever since. The colours fit perfect in our kitchen.

A very windy day again, and a bit mizzley, but warm. Good growing weather.
