Take Two
So today I had my second attempt at registering my Mum's death at the registry office. I made sure I was there earlier than my appointment this time - easy now I knew where I had to go!
It was a totally different experience this time. Everyone was welcoming, friendly and professional, even if I was kept waiting until ten minutes past my appointment time, ironically!
While waiting I had a nice chat with the receptionist (not the same one as the other day) and a man "giving away" (horrible outdated patriarchal tradition!) one of two beautiful brides who were getting married there today. They looked very glamorous!
Anyway it went smoothly and it's all done now, thank Goodness. However as I was leaving a fraught, stressed couple arrived, late, having gone to the old place... They too were told they'd have to rebook...
I can't believe they don't see that they have some part to play in making sure they make clear to people that their office has moved when appointments are booked. Or at least have some sort of sign near the old place to say where the new place is...
My Blip is some random graffiti I noticed on a wall I passed on the way... It kind of resonates...
