the heights

Up and at it again today. Breakfast at 8.

On the public bus into the city centre at 8:30. Found another public bus to take us up to the top of the castle.

Superb views from up there.

Stopped at a lovely wee cafe as we walked back down the hill. Hot work. Turkish tea & cold water revived us. That's where I Blipped the view over the harbour.

Tour company had offered us an "excursion" to the castle for €40 per head. Part of the fun was doing it ourselves for €7 each. We had to walk 200m between buses I suppose, but we managed somehow.

Oh, and a shopkeeper gave us a bottle of water free because he didn't have change. Just love Turkey...
