Dying Embers

If it weren't for the floating bog, I wouldn't have taken this. It was the silhouette which appealed to me.

But then, I couldn't leave it all black and had to raise the shadows to show some detail. I'm not sure why, even; it might be more successful as flat graphic shapes.

There were swallows flying over the lake catching insects, but the light was too dim for them to be much more than a smudge.

Extra: Oak Haven. An eastern bluebird seeking safety in an oak.
