Otter
Today started very much like yesterday dull and overcast but, again like yesterday, it brightened towards the afternoon.
So glad we went back out to Machrihanish again as we spotted a pair of otters.
They were diving in the kelp bed and catching fish.
So lovely to see them as we hadn't seen them for quite some time. I managed to catch this one as it briefly clambered out of the water and onto the rocks.
Couldn't resist putting in this story about St. Cuthbert and otters.
St. Cuthbert is apparently the patron saint of otters, and after standing waist-deep in the North Sea during his nightly prayer vigils, two otters would come and warm his feet with their breath and dry them with their fur.
