Stylish
Awful weather today but the gardens really needed the rain. Warm and no wind would have been better though!
I walked about a mile up to a neighbouring hamlet as a friend had invited me for tea and scones - and how could I refuse?
On my way home I passed this stile. I clamber over it at least once a day as it's a lovely field which is crossed by a couple of public footpaths. I was thinking that probably people who are not familiar with the UK would have never seen a stile and not had the fun of climbing over one. There are many styles of stile. This one has a little entrance on the right for dogs to go through. Some of them have another piece of wood that lifts up to let the dog pass through but this one is just open.
All the local footpaths and stiles are looked after by a group of volunteers whom we call "Prowlers" as they are Public Rights of Way.
Very lovely news today - some friends have a brand new granddaughter after losing their first grandchild about 18 months ago. I'm so delighted for them.
