Finished, Finito, DONE!

The lighting is very difficult in this room for photographs--no windows and and two French doors make it very dark or very light. Nothing in between. It is 90 degrees F outside today and although it's not a "real" log, a very realistic (and warm) fire can be started with the flick of a switch on a remote control, but not today....Today you can admire the new mantel (you can't tell from the picture, but it is curved), installed today by Chris to match the floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall library shelves he put in You will have to come back for tea in the dead of winter. We'll fire it up and it will feel very cosy.

The doors are just to the right of the fireplace. The library shelves are on the perpendicular wall to the right of the doors. A finished picture of the library is my blip for 3/6/13. A close up and story of the painting over the mantle, (which started the whole fireplace remodel because the old fireplace was asymmetrical, unattractive and had no mantel) was my blip on 2/28/13.

This room has been very difficult to furnish, but it seems finished now. It is full of furniture, books, old diplomas and pictures. Hopefully it doesn't look too cluttered, but it has finally turned out just about the way I pictured it in a 3am vision before we moved, and contains the only pieces of furniture, inherited from my grandparents, that we brought with us. I must resist the urge to add anything else....
