No More Room
OilMan went to work very early this morning and I went to class, leaving Ozzie to fend for himself until I got back. We have been walking past this tree for some time, but despite the fact that it is absolutely loaded with fruit, we still are unsure what kind of fruit it is--crabapples? cherries? Too small for the first, too late for the second. Whatever the fruit is, the loaded branches are quite a sight against the blue sky.
It is Dana and Jim's anniversary today, but it hasn't been very romantic. They came home from the A's game at midnight and Rudy needed to go outside, so she let him out in the back yard. He immediately ran to the bak corner, raised a skunk and the inevitable happened. She went to the all night drug store at 2;30am for peroxide (the miracle antidote for skunk spray). He hates baths and having one in the middle of the night didn't do much for getting him to settle down and go to sleep....
I took Dana and Rudy home after our walk and was unable to detect any skunk smell in the house, although Dana thought she could still smell it. However, I did let hRudy out the front door whereupon he immediately ran next door and started barking and nipping at the pant legs of a worker standing at his truck in the neighbor's driveway. Detecting that we were both furious with him, he led up a merry chase around the top of the cul de sac and under another neighbor's car. Both of us were muttering unprintable things by the time Dana caught him and marched into the house with him. I decided that was a good time to go home....
Jim meanwhile had to get up at the usual time and go off to work. this morning. If it were me, I waould think going to bed at 8pm sounded like a pretty good way to celebrate, but I doubt if Jim would agree....
