Life is a Challenge!

MONO MONDAY - CAMERA

I must admit I wasn’t very inspired when I looked at the theme for today’s Mono Monday - “Camera - Wide interpretation encouraged here...”

I wished I had an old camera that would be of more interest, rather than this one - a bog standard shot of my Canon Powershot SX50 - which is now over 10 years old, but with all the paraphernalia that goes with it and without which it wouldn’t work properly.

So, there is the actual camera, complete with battery - inside of course - the battery charger and memory card along with a remote, which is useful for taking macro shots, the camera strap and lens cover - all rather boring but necessary stuff.

I must confess to not using this camera that much now, for two reasons.  The first is that it is rather heavy and since my back surgery, I can’t cope with having this around my neck, and secondly I need to transfer the shots from the memory card using a card reader onto my phone, which then shoves them up to the iCloud and back again to my iMac.  Such a lot of faffing around when I can take equally good shots on my iPhone 16 Pro that go straight up to the iCloud and back again with very little effort on my part.

And if that sounds a bit defeatist, it is!  But in my defence, I have taken a photograph for the last 4,529 days - 4,530 including today without missing a single day.  All of those have had the grand total of 1,951,430 views, which is a humungous number.  However, I must say that now I mostly use my iPhone because it's small enough to carry around and it's always with me.

I look forward to seeing what others have come up with for this MM challenge.   I know one Blip friend, PepperG, has a plethora of vintage cameras, so I’m sure he would have found today’s challenge relatively easy or maybe not - perhaps he would too many to choose from!

PS Finished 3 books in the last week - not much housework done!! All excellent - see extra.
