Image manipulation

Today’s early morning walk produced this image, these apartments stand on the site that was previously occupied by the station master’s house. The old railway station is out of sight, the line closed in 1950, and of course in place of the roundabout was the crossroads. The roadsigns in the image give away the location. I checked the time on the clock with the date stamp of the image, it seems to be on time!  The image itself pretty accurately reflects the look of what I saw.  How much manipulation is really justified?  I generally prefer to render an image as I saw it, warts and all!
