'Day Old Chicks'..........!!!

Visited the Farm Shop again today......this time with my cousin......she'd never been before so we took a walk around the animal enclosures.......
And boy ..did this bring back memories from my childhood.....
I could hear the 'chirruping' as we walked towards the sheds...
and lo and behold here was this huge batch of 'day old chicks'.....

Every year when I was little I would wait patiently for the box of gorgeous fluffy yellow chicks to arrive......in a cardboard box on the bus from Dublin.......!
Did anyone else get their chicks delivered like that.....???
If you travelled on the bus that went to Limerick from Dublin..there would be a stack of these boxes up near the driver.........the noisy 'racket' they made as they travelled across the country......there was a box or two dropped off at each town the bus passed 'thru.....!
Can't imagine anything like that happening nowadays............!!!!!

Needless to say I didn't have Kitty with me....
could you imagine.......
when he saw this ..he wanted to know why I hadn't brought him home some?????????
