Tredegar House and Gardens

Had a really enjoyable Sunday visiting Tredegar House near Newport. We’ve been to the gardens many times before but as we no longer have the dogs, we were able to visit inside the house. It is run by the National Trust and enjoyed looking around the the well tendered walled gardens where I was particularly intrigued by this unusually coloured iris.
The house was also a revelation, and helped by the well informed staff, we learnt a lot about life in a large stately home both upstairs and downstairs.
