Golden slumbers...

The rain arrived last night and when I woke up at 5.30am the petrichor in the air was intoxicating.  One of my favourite scents, second only to the distinct scent of autumn when it arrives.  

Heavy rain had been forecast but by lunchtime it was dry with some sunshine and even some blue skies.  We definitely need more rain so will see if tomorrow's forecast lives up to expectation.  

After lunch we got the potted plants into the pool area.  Really pleased with how it looks but we underestimated how many we need so will order more.  

Spent a little while in my studio sorting out my watercolour paper.  No painting done today but a wee project coming up.  More on that another time.

Homemade chicken curry for dinner then arrangements for tomorrow finalised.  Visiting our niece Jen in her new flat.  She moved in two weeks ago and is loving it.  We're looking forward to seeing all her and her mum and dad's hard work :-)  Then on to Ele and Kenny's for dinner.  Looking forward to seeing how work is progressing with their home project.  

Watching Vera but Lola is having trouble keeping up with the plot :-)
