Surprise...

And so we've reached the last day of sunshine.

D and I decided to have lunch at Broadslap and were just about to head there when John and Norma arrived.  A surprise visit on their way back from a short break at Nethy Bridge.  They'd already had lunch but came with us to Broadslap and while we had lunch, they enjoyed tea and fruit scones.  

Once back home we had a lovely hour chatting in the Gin Palace making the most of the sunshine although the temperature was dropping and the trees starting to move with the increased breeze.  Definitely a change in the air.

We moved inside when Alan arrived back from his adventures.  Alan was delighted to see his grandpa and Norma.

Alan went for a swim just after 5pm and John and Norma headed home.  A light supper for us - homemade smoked mackerel pate with toast - and while we were having that we heard a very strange noise.  Took us a minute or two to recognise it....rain!  Much needed but I hope the sunshine returns soon.

Relieved to see our pal P made it safely back across the pond.
