Bowood Woodland Gardens (Friday 23rd May 2025)
I had a much more successful outing to Bowood Woodland Gardens to celebrate my birthday this afternoon. I bought coffee and cake (cherry curd and white chocolate) from the Nosh Box and walked a variation of the Walk Of The Week that got me to the Mausoleum and back, and sat reading in the picnic area. My blip was taken at the end of the walk at the lake beside the picnic tables.

Lozarithm's Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Irma Thomas - Anyone Who Knows What Love Is (Will Understand) (recorded 16 April 1964, New Orleans LA)
Although I had this soul classic in my collection several times over I discovered recently that they were all re-recordings of the original mono version, made for the stereo album Take A Look. When Dave Godin compiled his CD Deep Soul Treasures - Taken From The Vaults Volume 1 in 1997 for Ace Records he was adament that the superior original mono take was used, and it remains the only place it can be found on CD, along with 24 other American soul music gems. It arrived in the post on Thursday and was played on this day.
