Thank You

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who left their congratulations, stars and hearts for my Blipfoto milestone on Wednesday. 1,500 blips in a journal spanning 11 years on a rollercoaster of extreme highs and lows, with a huge gap in the middle while I lived with our dear Mum and looked after her in her last years. My Blipfoto story began in April 2014 - an eventful year (my last at the BBC after a frontline career of nearly four decades), which ended with the devastating illness and death of our beloved Dad at Christmas. Now, after losing Mum exactly 8 years later and then battling through a tedious mountain of legal paperwork for two years, I’m enjoying the spiritual peace I longed for all my life, having gradually rediscovered my faith over the past ten years. And having largely rebuilt the emotional side of life after enduring such big losses, I’m getting on with the literal rebuilding of my new/old home which had been Mum and Dad’s for nearly twenty years. There’s still a lot to do, both inside and also out in the garden (neighbour’s wisteria pictured, sneaking over the fence). The rebuilding story continues…
