Thursday: Cistus and Empty Snail Shells

Cloudy then lots of blue sky and quite warm.

MrD went off for a ride on his new scooter this morning and I pottered in the garden. I’ve emptied half a bin of homemade compost and gave the Blueberries a good thick mulch with it.

It looks as if the Cistus has been here for many years - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2038357

MrD cut the grass and there was a lot of it, we’ve mulched the “garden under construction” in front of the new wall with it, I think the blackbirds have been collecting earthworms from it too :-))

Whilst I’ve been gardening I’ve heard the Thrush cracking garden snails from their shells and seen signs of its use of an “anvil”.

Watched a couple of episodes of Chelsea Flower Show on iPlayer, they are finally realising that gardening should consider Nature first and foremost!!
