Poppy

This morning’s new flower is an orange oriental poppy, just unfurling its petals as I took Bonnie out.
I don’t particularly remember planting it here on the corner, but by happy chance, it’s the perfect match for my rose ‘For Your Eyes Only’. This is a real beauty with a delicious scent, and all the more special because it was one of those sad looking end of season bargain plants. I wouldn’t normally waste my money on them, but as it was a rose I felt sorry for it. It has certainly rewarded me, flowering all summer long and growing into a lovely bush.
The other roses are just starting now so there will be more to see!
