Carol's ramblings

Greys Court visit

Lie in this morning, as we had nothing planned.

Decided to go out to a National Trust venue, we have been a couple of times to Greys Court and not been able to get in (car park full, was a weekend), so thought we’d give it a go.  No problems with parking today.

As it was midday when we arrived, stopped for a bit of lunch (and a shared sausage roll) then into the house.  Last owned by Lady Elizabeth Brunner (daughter of Sir Henry Irving) and Felix Brunner (3rd Baronet).  Lovely walk around the house.  It is also displaying the outfit (see extra) worn by Lady Brunner, before marriage at the age of 16 (this is 104 years ago!).  This was her first acting role, she played “Titania” in A Midsummer Nights Dream.

Lovely walk around the grounds, the flowers are looking great in the gardens and the wisteria is gorgeous.

Drive home was lovely, as hubby has a convertible we had the roof down.  Pretty trip back through Henley-on-Thames.

Unfortunately, only a few hours after being home, hubby started a migraine (started with visual disturbances).  Headache tablets and rest, hopefully will improve the situation.
