I love the grand building of the FCO - apparently in the 50's/60's there was a suggestion that it should be pulled down and replaced with something modern, but someone saw sense and our ornate Victorian building was preserved. The decorations are rather politically incorrect (the other statues in this series - Asia, Africa, Americas all have bare breasts), but here's a wonderful sense of history to the place inside and out. It'll be open to the public on Open House London on 21 and 22 September this year.
