I see trees of green...
We drove along this road a couple of weeks ago and the trees were still bare. Amazing to see them so green and lush today as we headed to the our local plant centre.
There was a bit of drama just before we reached this part of the road. We passed three motorcycles parked in a lay-by then further long the road three motorcyclists and another man walking single file on the other side of the road. We turned a corner and came to a halt behind a queue of vehicles. There was a similar queue coming from the opposite direction. As we crept along at a snail's pace, the reason showed itself....a ewe and her two lambs had escaped from their field (see extras) and were wandering along the grass verge. I assume the motorcyclists had gone to get the farmer and that's who was walking with them. I hope they made it safely back to their field.
The plant centre was busy as I thought it would be. It's such a lovely place. I could spend hours there, which is strange since I don't possess a single green finger.
Today's task was to buy bedding plants for our planters, which we did, and returned home to do some planting. We were mainly replanting pots where the previous occupants had died, but I did buy a couple of cute pots that I will blip at some point.
Today's haul was assorted petunias, lobelia, cabana jumbo pink, and a variety of trailing foliage plants. Oh and a few bags of compost.
Back home and the next couple of hours was spent getting the tubs planted. I managed to plant all but the last tray of lobelia before my hands got too sore, and despite wearing new gloves, my hands were still filthy afterwards!
I am looking forward to seeing them all flower but not looking forward to reminding D to water them...again, and again, and again *rolls eyes*
And that's the weekend over again!
