More of the Same

Books and Birds..

The weather was nice today but a lot cooler. My neighbour came in for coffee this morning to have a visit with my sister, so the morning slipped away on us. Afterward, we did a short trip down to the harbour and wharf with our cameras but didn't get there until mid-day when the lighting is about as bad as it can get for photos. (Note the lack of beach pix.) 

I walked the beach and promenade with my sister until my hip said it was time to rest, but I encouraged her to go off on her own, down the Cross Canada Trail to get some exercise while I sat in the car reading. 

Note the new book. It's a doozy - huge - 643 pages! The pile of library books waiting for me to finish it may have to be dismantled and returned to the library unread!  I have just started it, but so far I am really liking it! I sure hope it keeps being as entertaining as it is now! 

Of course the bird search continues..but the best ones today were in my own back yard. My sister added one to her life list and I played around trying to capture goldfinches. I do hope my sister takes to this new hobby - it will be an interest we can share...especially if we get back to traveling overseas. Imagine all the new birds there!

My sister leaves tomorrow, so she retired early; I stayed up later of course to watch the Stanley Cup playoff game - Toronto Maple Leafs vs Florida Panthers. A nail-biter it was; it went onto overtime and alas..Florida scored. Series is now Toronto 2 games, Florida one. I anxiously await Sunday night's game...with fingers crossed.
