Interlude
Finally got to bed after midnight and then I was up at to get ready to go north. I even dried my hair..
Quick chat to J updating her on last night then headed north. The roads weren't busy and I made good time getting to Newmachar before midday.
Wished my belle-mere 'happy birthday' and planted three lily of the valley. I wonder if it will grow.
I was early so a quick phone call meant I could call in to see A's new bathroom and eat my sandwiches and drink my coffee in your front room. She has no kitchen at present.
Then we all drove, separately, up to St Andrew's,. My old neighbour R is church officer. She didn't recognise me at first.
The service for Mrs Val, aged 100 was very fitting and it was good to see so many friends there. She's planned it herself and we went back to the Strathburn for the funeral tea. Caught up with everyone including A over from Toronto.
Left about 4.30 to follow K into Aberdeen. Got slightly lost trying to remember my way to get house. Must really use sat nab..I used to go to that part of town a lot but from the city centre. But I did drive past my old office on the Lang Stracht, now houses.
We chatted then walked round to the Palm Court for dinner and then walked back for more chat before bed..
There days are longer in Aberdeen and it was a bonny sky.
