A very lovely day! Warm sunshine, all day. NO chilly breeze!!

In the afternoon, we had all been invited down for an afternoon of culinary delights at Elizabeth's, in honour of Christine's birthday last week. I was slightly anxious about walking all the way, and especially back up the long hill. On previous occasions I have taken the car, and once I caught the bus half way. But this time, I managed the whole thing, slowly. (8,761 steps) just as well, because we only just missed the bus, I would have been very unhappy had I been aiming for it. Anyway, I'd forgotten my bus pass...

What a treat it was to be in Elizabeth's sunny flat, looking out at the squirrels playing in the trees (fortunately neither Archie or Dougal could see them). We were spoiled with lots of tasty nibbles and cheeses and wines and many thanks to Mary Berry, who supplied many of the recipes.

And it looks like we have good weather for the rest of the week!!
