Titterstone

You can see the distinctive shape of Titterstone Clee Hill from almost everywhere in Shropshire. But, until today, we hadn't been to the top to see the whole of Shropshire laid out below. At 533metres it is the third highest hill in the county. Our twelve mile walk took us over and around the neighbouring Clee Hill and Dhustone Quarry before the climb up to Titterstone Clee. The landscape up here is bleak and treeless, dominated by the remains of old quarry workings and what was once the highest coal mine in Britain. My blip today looks east across the whinberry covered slopes into Worcestershire, with the national air traffic control and Met Office radar domes and aerials. The clouds threatened but didn't deliver.
