Cnwclas

A morning hop across the border to Cnwclas/Knucklas in Radnorshire where we walked up Castle Hill for the spectacular views across the Teme and Heyope valleys. Our route took us past the famous thirteen arch railway viaduct built in 1860 and still carrying trains on the Heart of Wales line. The viaduct is said to be unique because some of the stone for the core came from the ruins of the old castle and the viaduct incorporates semi-circular towers and crenellated battlements into its design.
