Sunshine to start the
day and some plans to keep me
busy all morning

~carliewired

I was late for the sunrise, but early for the alarm I'd set on my cell phone. I needed to be out and back before an appointment this morning. I left the house just after 6 to have a look around McArthur Island Park.

As the daytime temperatures rise, so does the level of the river. Spring thaw is happening up on the snow line at high elevations. The sad looking slough is beginning to be revitalized as the river feeds some fresh water in at both ends.

This morning it was very quiet at the footbridge. The water is coming in  from the river on the west side with lots of debris floating. No ducks were to be seen today. The slough was the domain of the Canada geese. Oddly, they were very quiet.

I drove over to the south side of the park to find some marmots out and about. I caught one with its foot raised about to scratch. It looks like it's waving to me. I looked across the playing fields to my mountains in the east.

I'm needed in the office this morning. Then, the rest of the day should be mine.
