Productive day
The company, my company, is bidding on a hydrogen project. We are bidding as subcontractors to a big company. We told them about the project and asked if they would like to bid and pretty please include us. They would like to bid and they are including us and with their experience and size they stand a reasonable chance.
They asked if we could find an African attorney with experience in green hydrogen and THIS MORNING I got us a female African attorney with experience in green hydrogen for the same client as the project we are bidding for. Huzzah!
We had an online conversation with Canadian family and it was kind of depressing actually. How are we doing? Things are bad here. Karen’s cousin knows someone who might be interested in hiring our business. I said to emphasize the African owned part of it not the American owned part of it.
I marvel that we have technology that allows us to talk, with video, to people in other countries, for no marginal cost. I remember long distance calls being prohibitively expensive and the advancement of communication technology amazes me.
I gardened afterwards and that helped.
Someone sent me a gift! It is a book by Ali Smith, Summer a novel. No idea who but I look forward to reading it.
Russia is having a Victory Day parade. Zelensky “suggested” that world leaders not attend. It wasn’t an outright threat, he just said that Ukraine couldn’t guarantee their safety. The parade celebrates the defeat of Nazi Germany. Two of Putin’s allies have mysteriously fall ill days before they were to attend. They may actually be unwell, it may not be an excuse to get out of going.
Ukrainian forces are operating in Kursk and Belgorod.
An American Patriot system, previously deployed in Israel, will go to Ukraine after ring refurbished. Ukraine is getting a similar system from Europe.
