Tramp

This is Tramp. Apparently so named because once upon a time his best friend pooch was called Lady.  Anyway, Tramp is about thirteen years old, adopted from the streets in Fetihye ten years ago when he was about three years old. Since then he has lived as a house dog with a British couple in Fetihye, then Didim, and more recently, here in Akbuk. Unfortunately due to ill health, they have to return to UK and feel they can no longer look after their dog so won't take him with them. Through CODA charity they appealed for adoption or foster and after some on line conversations back in February, I agreed to long term foster him as the alternatives for this chap were pretty bleak. Today Rufus and I met him and his 'parents' at a cafe bar on the sea front, where we talked and eventually, brought him back to my villa along with his bowls, bed and blanket. It was an emtional parting and Tramp clearly doesn't understand what's going on , poor fellow.   Do I want two dogs? No, I do not, but I just feel that these people and their woofer need help. Although I haven't mentioned it here, in March they did the rabies blood test and certification so that if necessary, Tramp can travel to England in the Autumn with me and Rufus. For the moment, I consider myself to be his 'foster Mum' and my focus is to make him feel safe and for Rufus to know that he is still my Amore.

It's been a quiet at home afternoon and evening. Tramp has mostly stayed behind the sofa and is obviously confused, poor fella, but has also wandered in  my garden, and enjoyed his tea with much tail wagging - oh, and we three went for a walk around 6pm when although the two dogs did not, and still have not, communicated, (very unusual for Rufus, the friendliest dog in the world) they did at least sniff the same shrubs simultaneously - so there is hope.
