The Eternal Building Site

Our opposite neighbours have a habit of changing the interior of their house on a regular basis. Every few months, they redesign a kitchen, living room or bedroom; throw out a lorry full of (perfectly fine-looking) furniture to be dumped (never donated); get a painter to renovate the room; and have a lorry full of new stuff delivered.

Now they started on a new bathroom. A team of two builders ripped the old bathroom fixtures out, and has been working on removing floor and wall tiles with a „Hilti“ (a popular brand of powerful and very noisy hammer drills) for the last week.

This blip shows the current view from our front door. We also can’t open the windows on that side of our house during these hot days, because of the noise and dust. But what makes me really sad is that the building noise and traffic have disturbed our redstart family. The birds were once again building their nest in the box under our carport roof, but they have given up and disappeared during this week - very probably because of the constant disturbance.
