Tai Tapu

A visit today to Tai Tapu, a township and rural area on the southern outskirts of Christchurch.  The weather was continuing with showers as yesterday's floods recede.

The Tai Tapu Library was built in the 1930s for parliamentarian and philanthropist Heaton Rhodes, who gifted this building (and the church beside it) to the Tai Tapu community.
