Llyn Mair
The cottage had a copy of a "Wild swimming walks" book, and one of the walks described is in a area where Julian used to run as a boy. So, since Katya had some revisions to do, Julian, Lucie and I left her in peace with Django in the cottage and went for a walk and a swim.
First we had lunch at the Oakley Arms - a big, old, stone pub, then a few minutes'drive took us to a car park above the Tan-y-Bwlch station. We had a fairly short woodland walk which took us to a reservoir where some young people were paddle-boarding. We carried on to Llyn Mair where we all had a swim - even Julian!
Then, we continued our walk around the lake, through a short nature trail and on to the station where we relaxed with ice creams. After that. It was a very short walk to the car.
