My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

There's a nationwide weather warning going on right now. I'm not sure about the exact reasons but basically sh*tty weather has descended upon us. 

Here in Paraparaumu it has manifested itself as high winds, rain and a sudden cold snap. Of course our main concern is the cats, so heaters are on and blankets are out. 

As for me, I decided to stay home and not go into the office. I was confident that Subbu would not care.

"Oh god no," he said. "It's horrible out there." 

I'm coming to appreciate Subbu more and more. 

And although I do feel lonely in this job, I have to admit that I'm coming around to it. I'm feeling very non-stressed and people are very understanding that I know eff-all about car inspections at the moment. 

I was telling Caro that maybe I should look at this job as an opportunity to do little projects and enjoy my time in the house. I've decided to have a crack at some very basic yoga and meditation and to eat a bit more sensibly. 

(Having said that, I'm also going to try and make a curry gravy base this weekend, but curry doesn't count).

Maybe this job won't be fun like Kainga Ora, but that doesn't mean it can't be a different type of fun. 

And besides, me and the FOBs are planning a "virtual" day in the office by logging onto a WhatsApp video chat and leaving it on all day!

It would mean staying up from 7pm to 6am!
