Rebuilding

English Hawthorn

More organising of renovation things. I booked the electrician to install an outside power socket in about 3 weeks’ time, and emailed the awnings chap to let him know that this was being done. He has now ordered the awning, so that’ll be arriving in about a month.

My sister arrived, and we had some lunch at The Exchange before looking round the shops. I also dropped off a few bits and pieces at a charity shop. Once home, we set about moving the wardrobes and chest of drawers out of the way ready for the decorator tomorrow. Photo in Extras of the horrific sight I am now looking at in the lounge! The hall and kitchen are no better. It will have to remain like this for the next couple of weeks, when hopefully I will have the new carpet fitted in the main bedroom. The chap came here this afternoon with all his samples, and I chose one which will hopefully be hard wearing and is a nice shade of pale green. I am yet to find the right flooring for the kitchen and bathroom but there’s no particular hurry. I’ve now paid for the bedroom carpet and hopefully they’ll call tomorrow to arrange the fitting date. I will also call Wren tomorrow, confirm my order for the wardrobes, and arrange a date for installation in around six weeks’ time.

Late night due to cleaning skirtings etc where the wardrobes were, which hadn’t been moved for over twenty years - not very pleasant.

The hawthorn (Crataegus laevigata) in the main blip is one of the many things which have sprung up in the garden due to my neglect…
