Urban Wildlife

Ruth and I spent some time working in her front garden this morning.  Lots of well rooted weeds in between the slabs on which she has site several home built raised beds.  Kneeling to do the job, the Speckled Wood butterfly and the ladybird were unmissable, right in me eyeline.   It was warm work and we were glad to retire indoors for lunch as the sun came round.

Otherwise, I got my phone repaired at a handy local shop and gave Meg a walk earlier in the morning.  Post lunch I packed the car and set off home, stopping in various useful places en route where I picked up some useful shopping and some handing basket plants.   Meg had a run in the ball field as we drove down the valley and I was home and unpacking as dusk fell ... 9pm.  Looks and feels like summer right now!

An amusing extra from earlier in the day.   Rescue cat Bryony is much less anxious now but still wary of people moving about, even when in her big crate.   Bizarrely, seemingly less anxious when Meg is there!   No purring when I was sitting on the sofa blowing her kisses but on several occasions, much purring and some playful rolling and stretching when Meg joined me :-)
