Apple Blossom

When Ruth was little more than a toddler she kept the pips from an apple she ate .... and planted them.   One seedling survived- despite limited care on my part - to be planted in the garden and against all expectations it grew and grew.   One year, after a hard prune, it covered itself in blossom and set fruit, little red apples!

Five years ago I had to leave that garden behind but with Jacinta still in residence, two years ago Ruth bought some rootstocks and her mum sent some scions to Birmingham.   Lo and behold, Ruth's grafts have taken and here is one of them covered in blossom!   My green fingered daughter :-)

Our day revolved around an appointment Ruth had this afternoon.   A quiet morning beforehand, a walk for Meg and some garden time later.   Catching up on My Welsh Chapel Dream tonight.
