There's a storm comin' in

I timed my ride into town this morning pretty well, to watch LNER Class A1 60163 Tornado steaming into Waverley, with Brush Type 4 Class 47 47832 on the rear.  Tornado was about to haul the Edinburgh to Inverness leg of The Great Britain XVII tour, which returns to Edinburgh and goes on to Newcastle in a few days' time.

I nearly missed my opportunity when some tourists asked how to get to the station and I was distracted in beginning to answer them.  Moments earlier I had assumed that I'd missed the event and that Tornado was already at the platform, and hurridly retrieved my phone to take a photo!  I didn't have time to nip down to platform 19 to watch the departure, but I shall have another chance soon enough.

The day passed with one very long meeting and one short, and some more high stress stuff going on.  I escaped a bit early to cycle home in the lovely mid-20s sunshine, and made some salad and a panini for tea.
