Tony Fawcett
was much loved by the BFBS family - he was one of my first mentors in broadcasting and a friend since 1975. I couldn't make his funeral today, but lit a candle for him in a quiet corner of an old church in Burgundy last week.
He was an expert on the cinema, and a wonderful record and music Librarian. In BFBS Gibraltar, the library annex where the BBC recordings were stored was known as Gruntfuttock - after J. Peasemold of that illustrious family.
I treasure Tony's memory - it's all about kindness and laughter.
