It was sunny this morning, but for some reason, though I didn't wear my hat, I kept my jumper on under my really warm jacket. And I got so hot and bothered! I had to stop and take my jumper off and tie it round my waist, then stop and take my jacket off, but it was too awkward to carry as well as my walking stick and dog lead. Most uncomfortable.
I had a vague idea of maybe getting a bus up the road and go to Braidburn Valley Park - I haven't been there for ages. But we came to the choice - the cafe or the pub? The cafe was mobbed, so we went into the pub for a sit down. And most pleasant it was too. Archie had a dish of water, and I had a half of Paolozzi lager. And the soundtrack was very laid back smooth, non-screechy jazz. I thanked them as I left.
We had another sit down on the handy bench on the way home. I was listening to a really good series of BBC podcasts looking at different aspects of the 21st century.
When we eventually staggered home, I was SO stuffed (5,913 steps) that I lay down on the sofa and stayed there for the rest of the afternoon. Thoughts of cutting the grass were dismissed. Archie went out again later with JR - he's always game!
JR has had a day at home, 'sorting things'.
I do like the 'portrait' setting on the iPhone.
