Last Flowers of Spring
It was and still is a sunny and warm Sunday. B and I went for a long walk around the vineyards and orchards, where we admired these flowers of a horse chestnut tree.
I love the fact that these flowers change their colour from yellow to red dots, as soon as they are pollinated - like they are putting up traffic signs for the pollinators, indicating where to go.
But horse chestnut flowers, like apple blossom, are also an indicator for „late spring“ in our region‘s phenological calendar. This means, that for nature, spring is almost over, and summer is about to begin.
Too fast for me.
