Kiddie blip

This morning was to see a Big Outing to a Far Away Place (ok, not very far, but it was a trip that would need a picnic, so quite far really). However, when we finally hauled ourselves out of bed, it was to discover that our guests had been awake for quite some time already, with a vomiting boy. Plans were changed, the vomiting boy was provided with a large bowl and much sympathy and the rest of us headed off for a short local walk instead.

Of course the kids were asking when we'd be home long before we'd even reached the turn around point, but happily the return journey (with all the 'ooh look at that butterfly', 'what's that flower' and 'can we play in the quarry?' out of the way) was much swifter. And even more happily we returned home to a rejuvinated little chap who had kept his mum busy running back and forward for food. And as you can see from this, later, watery outing to the newly filled paddling pool, the 400 rice cakes saw him quite restored to health.

Later some fat heavy drops of rain and distant thunder sent us scurrying inside to watch a quite dramatic storm which rattled right above us for hours. Some of it even managed to get into the upstairs hall, though we're still (days later) not entirely sure how that much water got in through the small hole under the balcony doors....
