Whisky Fringe
Woke up when the alarm went off this morning. Good job it was set. Came downstairs and started on some of the photos from holiday. Loads of back blips to do. At least I have done the writing part of the blip while we were away, just need the photos to go with them.
Also discovered that when I changed the time on the camera I forgot to press OK. As a result all the timings are 5 hours later than taken. Will have to send in lots of reasons for the different dates when posting. Sorry.
J managed to get out of bed around 10 and by the time we had got things sorted we were late for meeting a fellow blipper for lunch. He had kindly popped into the flat while we were away to water the plants and keep an eye on things.
Lunch was at The Other Place, a new pub just outside Cannon Mills. From there it was up to the whisky fringe for 4 hours of whisky tasting. Just what we needed on top of the jet lag.
Met some other friends at the venue and managed to taste 46 different spirits before leaving. Some very nice bourbons, sherry, gin and whisky. The highlights being the Ardbeg 10 yr., Auchentoshan Virgin Oak, Nikka Coffey Grain, Miyagikyo 12 yr., W.L. Weller bourbon 12 yr., Osborne Pedro Ximinez sherry, Citidelle Reserve Barrique Aged Gin and peat Monster blended whisky.
This was a quick snap of J and Lynne having a rest towards the end of the event.
From there it was down the road to the chippy before heading back to watch some TV.
Great day to end the holiday on.
