Scenes from Malmö
Two countries in one day today! This morning we boarded a bus in Copenhagen, and drove both underneath and over the sea on the Øresund
Bridge to Sweden. (Part of the structure is a tunnel that goes along the sea bed to an island, and part is a bridge that goes from the island over to Sweden.)
We drove to the pretty town of Lund, where we visited the Lund Cathedral, a Lutheran church, built in the late 11th century in the Romanesque style. We then traveled to Malmö, where we had the opportunity to roam the pretty central part of town, admiring St. Peter's Church -- a brick Gothic church built in the 14th century.
As it was a beautiful day, we just chose to amble the charming streets, window shopping, and admiring the lovely squares, flowering Jacaranda trees, beautiful planters full of Spring flowers, statues, and people-watching.
We also met an adorable wire-haired dachshund pup named Lily who graciously allowed us to pet her, and tell her all about how much we miss our own whiskery doggie!
I've added an extra photograph of the Øresund Bridge, which shows how the tunnel/bridge looks. Credit for this image: Nick-D - Own work CL BY-SA 4.0.
