Gently down the stream

Sedge Warbler

It's mostly been a grey day but the rain never really came and we've had some unexpectly lovely patches of blue sky and sunshine.  Down at the reserve pond the small birds were very active: Cetti's, reed buntings, sedge warblers for the most part, but lots of other small birds scurrying about in the bushes on either side of the path leading down there.  The reserve, I have to say, was wonderfully quiet.  Have the kids gone back to school already??

Anyway, here's a little sedgey singing his heart out.  I love how very bright red the inside of their beaks/mouths are.

What else?  A quick trip out to drop off K's prescription requests at the doctor and pick up a carton of milk, some general tidying in the house and a visit from the builder who's bringing his team here next week, now the conservatory floor has dried out, to finish off repairing the damage from our flood earlier in the year.  And that's it.

Hope your Wednesday's been/is being a good one  xx
