I made an early start, this morning, and drove across to Sheffield to pick up Abi for an MRI. It being Good Friday, the roads were largely deserted, so I had a very enjoyable drive across Snake Pass.

Abi's appointment passed without incident and then we had a very amicable drive up to Kirkby Lonsdale, stopping at Booths in Settle on our way. 

This sign on the deli counter caught my eye, though, and irked me a little. I mean, I am all in favour of educating people, but the calories you require will depend on your age, sex, height, and weight, as well as how active you are. Most men will require over two thousand calories as a minimum. 

I really spent way too long wondering how this sign managed to get from concept to execution without somebody saying "Isn't this a bit pointless?"

Anyway...

Later on, Abi and I had dinner at The Royal followed by drinks at The Barn, and I honestly think it might be the nicest day we've ever spent together.
