A red beetle
I found this rather fine red beetle in a hedgerow this morning.
There are an awful lot of types of beetle and I am afraid that I cannot give it a name other than "red beetle". The great British biologist John B. S. Haldane (1892-1964) described perfectly the superabundance of types of beetle thus:
If one could conclude as to the nature of the Creator from a study of his creation it would appear that God has a special fondness for stars and beetles.
