i am sure there are rules about not letting people see the inside of amusement arcades - that the lure of the flashing lights would be too tempting for the average passerby. so this is what one of the local arcades displays instead. the thing in the middle is one of those bits of cloth blown by a fan which are used on stage as a substitute for fire. it's very grey. the painting is also a thing of wonder.

went to play with j's garageband but ended up in a cafe instead.

took the kids to buy friday sweets in woolies with the usual negotiations about what counts as a decent enough whack of sweeties.

we all swam and wondered why the man in the middle lane would rather lap people there than commit to the fast lane. maybe he feels fitter that way
