Wind Blown

It’s been a very blustery day. Blossoms and pollen have been flying around the garden. In a gust of wind this tulip was snapped from its stem, so I’ve placed it in a bud vase in the kitchen so I can continue to appreciate its rich pink petals.

A morning at the allotment today. I sowed parsnip seeds, planted out beetroot plants and discovered the carrot seeds I sowed about a month ago have finally germinated. I also took cuttings of sage and thyme to propagate as my existing plants are becoming woody. Back at home I sowed courgette, sweetcorn and spinach seeds. This afternoon I worked in the front garden planting out new perennials into the flower beds to fill some gaps and give additional colour. Andy cooked a tasty spaghetti dish for dinner which we enjoyed with a glass of wine from a vineyard which is just a few miles up the road. It was a much appreciated tasty meal to round off the day.
